Dave The Fish


I went down to the sea today


And caught the most marvellous fish you ever saw!!


Oh to be a fish in the oceans blue
with scales and fins
and gills that flap
and gasp in the open air


Oh what treasures hide in those ghostly deeps


Where calypso resides and shakes lost stories of buccanears and mermaids
squids and eels from her sea weed locks


Enticing us closer with the sway of her grass stringed dress


Swimming war planes lurch 
And the sharks lay an ambush in wait 


Oh and how the crazy horses gallop
And foam on neptunes waves 


Forever a wash amongst the swash


Dragging men on wooden planks towards the shore  a fleeting embrace 


And as i sit back and look out into the vastness of this vista


I feel like a grain of sand..... .
